During a holiday event I was given words of wisdom. Even though my mind was elsewhere I immediately immortalized these words in my memory "fear is just something to get in your way." To apply this concept into my daily life is my desire, sometimes we have a fear of the unknown or rejection or even what others may say and think... I am going to start my own "self revolution." Whose with me??? What are your fears??

Nathaniel the Movie Critic "Four Colored Girls"
I love movies especially ones you can watch over and over again like 'Gladiator' and 'Avatar'
Recently Tyler Perry put on the main screen a movie entitled "Four Colored Girls"
Did you see the movie why, or why not?
What do you think about it?
Wanna know what I think about it?
How does it portray the black male, family, relationships?
drop a comment... with response

sorry I have been away from you.
To the true fans of "The Nathaniel Show" I want to apologize for being away so long. The "Show" is still ironing out all of the obstacles and temporary set-backs. First up is the camera issues. "The Nathaniel Show" was embarking on an impressive interview fete that is currently suspended due to failed equipment. I am still networking and so is Kristine (photographer) for the show.
Set-backs come and go but we are choosing to regroup and keep moving.
I have taken up a hobby to stimulate my mental creativity making bracelets, a vid clip will be posted soon. (thank to a young poet and visionary)

I AM VEGGIE AND PROUD OF IT
Here meet some other people who are vegetarians, see what they eat, how the stay healthy and were do they eat.
As for me (Nathaniel) I just don't eat meat, I could be healthier in that I don't eat consistent amounts of vegetables as is needed and my love of sweets can't help either.
In this segment "The Nathaniel Show" will interview owners of a few "nature based" restaurants and people that are vegetarians to find out how they eat and why.
If you have friends that are veggies or you yourself, Nathaniel wants to talk with you. drop a message or comment.

The Nathaniel Show talks with Dr. Pryor Director of Medgar Evers College "Nu Leadership"
This interview covered a lot of ground about the growing concern of incorporating former inmates into the working society and was held during the time of growing tensions regarding the 'Center For NU Leadership' renewing their 'vows' with Medgar Evers College.
"The Nathaniel Show" received information about the Medgar Evers College 'Center for Nu Leadership' and was immediately interested in meeting their program visionary Dr. Pryor; after all this young man was very educated and had competed against some of the most major obstacles one can face in order to live his dreams and help others.
The actual interview was going to only take about 10 mins, but Dr. Pryor graciously gave me a tad bit more time, of which I am eternally thankfull. (off the record) I was a little bit nervous, it was my first interview in a state public facility of this magnitude.. off course it wouldn't be the last.
Interview was done late September. (sorry for the delay in posting)
here is some video footage of my interview with Dr. Pryor
The Introduction
Dr. Pryor talks about NU Leadership and the Centers goals.
Dr.Pryor talks about Job Placement for NU Leadership Students'

Time Managment "success and failure" "and how to stay afloat"
In life, TIME is the most valuable commodity ever given to us earthlings. If you believe in God, He requires His time, so does the wife or husband the kids, your Job, your friends from school, your brother or sister, your parents, your aquaintances ,,,and blah blah blah. and If your contact list is around 50 or more at least an hour a month to keep updated with each rounds out to about 3000 mins and I know some of you have more than 100 contacts u celebrities. So "what in green acres halls" can u do?????? o and also you have to give time to yourself, at least for hygeine.. mental, emotional, physical and spiritual.growth. How can you deal...O and did I leave out the student and his crabby professor who thinks his class is the only one you have..and you live just devote time to his ego braille-like lectures with latin as his first language....
So how can I do it all and still keep my sanity let alone have great happiness and wealth in true, healthy relationships????
You tell me....
In this segment. I will be interviewing a wide variety of professionals to find the source for their being so well rounded in this ever changing society.
Please feel free to post any comments on how you stay afloat with some time to spare.

Keeping it Clean and I mean all of it.
To be in the spotlight one must create regular physical grooming exercises to maintain and project a great image.. (to look good and stay fly) my journey has begun so I kno I must do things differently and bite the bullet...especially when it comes to the dentist and paying the bucks for a hair stylist...
Men: get a shape up, keep your nails clean and cut and get the hair re twisted, buy some cologne .. Women: wash your hair, keep nails clean, light polish (if ur a professional) perfume.
daily hygiene until it becomes habit..
Have any great tips for making time for physical maintenance with a busy schedule.??? drop a comment on how you do it.
Living in New York, it is somewhat of a challenge to do everything and forget these small details ( I have fallen short a lil bit)
Recently I let my hair grow out for about a month with little or no care just the basic washing and here is some pics. lookin a lil dusty wouldn't u say???
story of my hair tragedy
and here is some pics of my hair transformation..

In Touch with My Future Author (by Nathaniel)
Well some may or may not know that I am a writer. I love words and poetry even though I am such a horrible speller, (I took the spellcheck off of all my post) LOL just to prove that. I believe that words create and destroy (the world was built by a word and laws built on them) so all my conversations I desire to create life. My recent lesson gathered in the school of life - I can say NO to conversation that I consider not beneficial to my well being and to shun all such contacts. I can also kick the habit of chasing the moon when its better to bask in the sun and play with the stars...in other words I won't engage in a personal or business relationship with anyone that doesn't wanna laugh with me.... so laugh on my friends.
hope you were inspired or was touched by this personal note.

"Creating Nathaniel's Signature." your input
on this particular episode I (Nathaniel) will examine various styles to make my own.. soon to be posted
If u have suggestions send me a message or post a comment
(update made -September 14, 2010)
Well, so far I have found some resources that seem like what I was looking for and what can later be "The Nathaniel Signature"
So far Its just on paper, a few internet google searches and some black and white images. and a several blurry stills in my cognotive psyci.. To make any dream or vision a reality one must try his best to focus the blurry lens of the psyci therefore yeilding into reality that which was always meant to be...(words from Nathaniel Cochrane)
My next step will be to call upon the creative people of the universe (New York City ) lol and then see what each person's imagination can come up with to interpret my extraordinary visions.
After that The Nathaniel Show will incorporate images that will yeild fruits of my perplexing mixture to produce the most valuable creations to be featured on canvas and exhibited in the space of time.
Final The Nathaniel Signature will be authenicated.

on Labor Day weekend I interviewed this unique yung man named Edris. He is the Associate producer for the Keith Sweat radio show (The Sweat Hotel) I was invited to do a quick interview with him while he was On Air so as you can imagine it was both exciting and fun.

The Small Town Social scene DISaster. By Nathaniel
I recently arrived in Florida for my mini vacation and escape from the bustle of the fast paced city to visit my family and the little ones.(we all need a break sometime) on arriving back to my roots it seems customary to connect with the old friends or at least catch up on the stories of "hows so and so doing?" and other common questions like: who moved? who's dating who? who's married now? what new stores or restaraunts are happening and whats the general social scene like.
In my travel to my old town I always seem to fall short of the social scene. none of my former associates live close or are available and the ones that are seem to be completely out of touch of thier surroundings(or at least when it comes to a good party).
A lot of the time I show up at some spot that seems to be out of the social agenda since the begining of time and I usually can't multi task well enough to bounce back into the partying or hanging out mood. After many a time of 'packing up ship' and sailing back to my folks home I finally found the solution to my quick visit problem.
1) I always pop up unannounced and telling friends the day I touch down at the airport - while getting my bags and walking to my awaiting driver.(my parents or brother) sounded soooo celeb-like "my awaiting driver"
pop-ups are not good.(like the ones on this computer indicating a slow virus-like invasion of this laptop)
And I must remember that even the stars have press releases and public appearances are usually announced.
alert people ahead of time of when your showing up.
2) I never seem to keep up with my associates well enough to keep abreast with whats happening ( I usually think, "what could be possibly happening in that tiny town?" but obviously it is something when your visiting.
keep in general contact with a few of the town regulars that know whats going on and where..
3) I didnt think of doing a lil research before I traveled (my last thoughts were very simple, Im off from work visit family, watch movies, play with my lil ones and sleep, sleep, sleep and maybe read a book..
At the time when I was getting ready to visit the small town I should have:
Checked - out the local radio station they usually list upcomming events
connected with a social networking site like Facebook.
In the end I realized that even though visiting my family in Florida is the main priority I still wanted in on the social scene and to do so required me to alert a few close friends of my upcomming trip, keep regular contacts with a socialite and doing basic research for myself.
I hope you learned or was entertained by something from this post... If you have other ideas that you think is helpful or you have a story of your own small town social scene experience feel free to post it or message me.

My interview with Ethan Smythe (recording studio owner)
I self edited this interview and conducted various audio edits just so I could be able to upload the footage easily to "the Nathaniel show blog" . The interview lasted for well over 17 mins and I couldn't post it to youtube or my blog because of the length...(youtube video limit is 15mins at a time) I stayed up trying to pry and compress this piece and its just about DONE..
The interview
Mr. Smythe was very informative and enlightening to be around.
The uncut video footage shows how much fun we had just connecting on personal and intellectual levels. Mr. Smythe shows true passion for creating and thinking outside the box and is sure to set any aspiring artist ablaze with inspiration... He is also a very eloquent speaker and I had to be on my "A game" when putting the words together.
After the interview I was excited to meet with Mr. Smythe in the recording studio and its just something about impromptu production and creating that is electrifying....(some bonus footage will be posted) lol just me acting crazy
Keep checking back for the rest of this segment

"Old Friendships Rekindles" Part 1
Have you ever been friends with someone that you thought would be your friend for life and in less than a season you lose contact?
About 2 days ago I met such a friend. He was a guy that I would hangout with regularly; then all of a sudden we just stopped hanging out at all. partly because I started working different hours and because I sensed that I was the only one putting out any effort to keep the relationship flowing....
If you have any experiences like that explain? what would you do if you met a distant or has been friend?
what would you say???? should you trust their friendship or start from scratch??

I love dreds and locs.."the community"
I have always loved dreds and locs ever since I was a lil boy. During my younger years I began prepping my parents (who were admittedly against it at the time) that I was going to have them as soon as I went away to college. and In Aug 2004 I went away to college and it all begun.... the journey was ruff.. finding someone to do it well on campus and paying the money that I didn't or couldn't afford to maintain it..whew.... I wished I had a girlfriend that would do it for free..lol that never happened.. then when I had it done it would never look right after I took a nap or went into a trance-like stupor after my work... Ultimately, I have conquered that stage and those sterotypes "you won't be able to get a job with your hair like that" I always reply, "hasn't been a problem for me......"
Why I Wanted to twist it?
well alot of people ask me if Iam Rasta. I have the face of a Lion, but I believe in God and Jesus a lil different than the average Rasta. I decided to allow my hair to loc because I believe in being natural and I believe in being a firm advocate for being black and beautiful along with knowing I would look great in it..
Why Did You decide to start your Locs?? How do you feel about people with locs?
Have any stylist tips for locs?
Me a few years later on August 2010...I am loving it more.
