This
summer started with a bang or two for The Nathaniel Show. For the first time I
renewed my passport and flew out of the country. My first out of the country
vacation was an all-inclusive trip to the Dominican Republic. On arriving to
the Dominican Republic, I was greeted by my friend Nunez who drove me to my
location in La Capital (Santo Domingo) and Boca Chica beach. The weather was
hot and the people were friendly. I must say my basic Spanish skills came in
handy throughout the trip. While in the Dominican Republic I not only enjoyed
fun in the sun but I was introduced to the culture and the new Transit system
in Santo Domingo. My friend Nunez is somewhat of a historian and political in
DR so I was invited to the home of the then political hopeful and now President
of the Dominican Republic Danilo Medina. Nunez and his friends where very
hospitable and treated me like family. The food and the conversations even in my broken Spanish
where heartwarming and memorable.
